#Interviews
From 10 to 12 October, Milan is once again the international capital of Digital Design. After the success of the first four Milanese editions, and the first one dedicated to the business world held in Geneva, the new Superstudio Più location is ready to host three days of networking, workshops and masterclasses with Digital Design legends from all over the world.
We interviewed the founder and curator of the Digital Design Days, Filippo Spiezia, a lifelong designer and innovator, a key figure in numerous successful projects that have seen him work as Art Director in various design studios not only in Italy but also in Europe.
The rebranding is only the beginning of a phase of growth and development of the project, which we are also expanding internationally. The decision came after we became aware of the success of the event and the growing expectations of participants, who come from all over the world every year. Among the new initiatives in the pipeline we are already working on new editions in Hong Kong and Dubai, while we are also working on the launch in 2020 of a spin-off specifically dedicated to Public Administration and Cultural Institutions.
Digital Design Days is not intended to compare different markets with significantly different economic situations, but to trigger a conversation between the best Italian realities and the best international creatives and visionaries, so that we can mix different cultures and skills and create new collaborations and innovative projects. We have numerous networking activities that foster knowledge between people.
The training activities offered by our workshops are extraordinary again this year, as they allow you to discover new methodologies or develop your skills in contact with some of the world’s leading professionals and experts. Also this year there will be some of our most popular workshops as well as new opportunities and topics that I invite you to discover. Each workshop will last 4 hours and will give a very vertical focus on some of the most important topics of the moment, not only on design but also on business and innovation.
Curiosity is one of the indispensable elements, together with talent and passion. This is the necessary baggage for every designer, whose role is to find new solutions every day and discover new tools to constantly improve their work.
Design is essential in this sense, being the basis for solving human needs – and the future of digital design is the future of all design. Creativity, technology and storytelling support us in solving significant challenges in all areas, playing the extremely important role of understanding what is relevant to the people who matter most to you and to companies, in order to harness their potential and thus improve their business.
The most current trends at the moment are certainly those ofArtificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, which offer a whole new vision to be explored and open up the field of design to a vast array of opportunities. I also think that the potential of virtual reality, although I cannot yet fully appreciate it, is still to be developed.
3,000 guests are expected from different sectors, cultures and backgrounds: designers and developers, entrepreneurs, freelancers and startuppers, brand managers, HR managers, producers and marketers who will attend the event to be inspired, learn and grow their businesses with new tools.
